FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • A neuropsychological evaluation appointment includes a clinical interview, testing activities, and a feedback session. During the initial appointment, the clinical interview will be completed. Testing activities are usually completed during the initial appointment, but a second appointment (or appointments) may also be scheduled to complete testing. This depends on several factors such as age, preference of provider, diagnosis, etc.

  • Appointment times vary from one hour to a full day of activities. This will be discussed when the appointment is scheduled. For longer appointments, breaks for food and rest are provided as needed.

  • Typically there are two appointments. The first appointment involves clinical interview and testing. The second appointment involves a review of evaluation results and can take place in person or via telehealth.

Depending on circumstances that can be discussed with your physician or the Administrative Manager, the initial appointment can be split up over multiple days.

  • After discussing a time and date for your appointment, our office manager will ask for information found on your health insurance card. Please be sure to have the card(s) handy as needed to ensure the process is as efficient as possible.

  • Please bring the informed consent document, any pertinent medical records, and any previous psychological, neuropsychological, or psychoeducational evaluations that have been completed. For prospective pilots, the FAA specifies what records are needed and this will be discussed when the evaluation is scheduled. Please note more information can be found on the various patient forms below.

  • Reports are typically completed within three weeks of the evaluation, but this can vary based on the type of evaluation.

  • INSURANCE: We are in network with Aetna, BC Highmark, Independence Blue Cross, Keystone East, United Health Care Commercial plans, Medicare, and several other insurance plans. However, insurance benefits vary significantly per patient plan. Patients who wish to use insurance under these plans should complete the Patient Information and Insurance Form. Once received, we will verify benefits and discuss co-pays or deductibles with each patient, as appropriate. All patients should be aware that guarantee of payment does not occur until the claim is submitted and approved by the insurance company. Payment of copays and deductible amounts are required at the time of the initial appointment.

PRIVATE PAY: Fees and payment schedule will be discussed when the appointment is scheduled and vary by type of evaluation. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card at time of service.
